ALLOWING NATURE TO REVEAL ITSELF

The process of creating our wines and eau de vie is a biodynamic journey that starts in the soil of our vineyard, through the vine, grapes and hands that harvest them. Our approach to viticulture is to support and nurture, we strive to preserve every element of the fruit and give it a chance to develop itself. We ferment our grapes using only its native yeast and as the result we create natural wines full of terroir, which are either enjoyed just as they are or doubled distilled in copper pot stills.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that nature is wise, we allow it to evolve in its own rhythm. We take only what it gives us, we do not intervene with additional matters as we give it the opportunity to develop itself in its own manner.

TERROIR: PEARL ISLAND

Surrounded by two rivers, our 27 ha vineyard lies on sandy soil that originates from its riverbed that has been moving for millions of years, leaving minerals and organic nutrients that can be found only here. A unique terroir for white grapes- Sauvingon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling and autochthonous Krokan.

STORY

Our story begins in the 19th century, when the Radenkovic family, a family of artisans and farmers, started producing and trading wines and spirits. The family was organized as a cooperative where each member had its place and purpose.

Dedication and hard work inevitably led to business growth, and it was in 1930 when the large wine cellar and a beautiful family home were built.

The most talented among children were well educated. George, born in 1908, was sent to France. He came back with a PhD in Economics and a degree in oenology.

After the World War II, the family estate was nationalized. It did not stop George from continuing to explore his love for the vine. His participation in the foundation of large national wine companies Navip and Rubin, gave him an opportunity to create a national brend - Vinjak, a spirit first of its kind in the region. George’s son, Milun, restores the family tradition. In 2000 he builds a new wine cellar and raises 30 ha of vineyards. Radenkovic cellar creates wine from its own grapes using knowledge passed from father to son….

…TO TODAY..

In 2020 Milena, daughter of Milun and George’s granddaughter, started a partnership with Dejan Stojanovic, an ardent distiller.

Their shared vision, an honest respect for nature and passion for craftsmanship led to the creation of VERT –a range of natural wines and spirits.

VERT is an ode to nature and tradition.

Please to meet you

We believe that nature is wise and our role is to allow it to develop itself. The grapes we obtain by implementing our philosophy are made for spontaneous fermentation from which we get fruitiness in our wines. There is a lot of manual work involved, as the machines can’t replace the caring hands of humans. We manage together-in accordance to our skills, and participate in all the processes from vine pruning to wine bottling.
